Ed Sheeran really enjoyed Taylor Swift's recent performance of "Livin' on a Prayer" with Prince William and Jon Bon Jovi. In fact, he thought it was "badass."

"Like singing with Bon Jovi is cool, but pulling royalty up as well is pretty cool," the 22-year-old singer told E! News at The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug junket on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The British crooner had nothing but praise for his pal, and said that he is pleased that fans in his native country are embracing the Grammy winner.

"England's like really adopting her now," Sheeran said. "It's kind of cool because she, this has been her biggest album in England," he added. "This is the first time she's really opened up to the U.K. and yeah, they're really adopting her."

Sheeran's tune, "I See Fire," is featured during the closing credits of the fantasy-adventure flick.

And speaking of music, Sheeran dished some details about his next album, which will be released sometime next year.

"The first record I put together in two weeks, this record I put together, it was like a hundred demos of the songs and I've whittled it down to twelve and made sure the production is right," Sheeran said.

"I've really put my heart and soul into it," he gushed about his latest work.

Sheeran admitted that he is just "trying to take it all in," and that he is living "my teenage boy's dream." Except for one thing.

"I mean, I'm not banging a supermodel," he quipped.
