Star Wars fans will be excited to see this!

While we all anxiously wait for Star Wars: Episode VII to hit theaters (Dec. 18, 2015, in case you forgot), director J.J. Abrams' production company behind the film Bad Robot helped ease the waiting process by sharing an awesome photo of Abrams with none other than R2D2.

"Hi from the workshop! #StarWarsVII," the tweet with the photo read, which, as you may have already realized, is the first glimpse of anything that has to do with the new flick. Eeek!

It was recently revealed that Toy Story scribe Michael Arndt had exited the project and was handing screenwriting duties to Lawrence Kasdan, who was responsible for co-writing two films in the original Star Wars trilogy—1980's The Empire Strikes Back and 1983's Return of the Jedi.

"I am very excited about the story we have in place and thrilled to have Larry and J.J. working on the script," LucasFilm honcho Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement at the time of the announcement.

Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled to begin shooting in spring of 2014.

When Abrams isn't focused on bringing yet another adventure from space onto the big screen, he's promoting his novel S. Lena Dunham will be hosting an evening of conversation with the director and Doug Dorst next Saturday (Nov. 23) at 6 p.m. at Symphony Space in New York City.

The event will feature an interview to offer insight into the collaborative process of creating the pair's novel.
