The Wonder Woman cast just got even hotter!

Chris Pine has closed a deal to play Steve Trevor opposite Gal Gadot in the comic book movie, a source confirmed to E! News Tuesday.

According to The Wrap, who first reported the news, Pine has also joined the DC Movie Universe in a multi-picture deal that includes sequel options.

While plot details remain top secret, Pine's character is expected to play Gadot's love interest in the highly anticipated movie set for release in 2017.

Pine is best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek reboot films. He's also gained fans with his work in Into the Woods and The Princess Diaries 2.

The announcement comes just a few short months after E! News confirmed director Michelle MacLaren would not be continuing with the project.

"Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together," the studio said in a statement.

Wonder Woman will now be directed by Patty Jenkins who previously helmed Charlize Theron's critically acclaimed movie Monster.
