Jessa Duggar is pregnant with her and hubby Ben Seewald's first child, TLC confirmed to E! News Tuesday. "We are so excited," the 22-year-old mom-to-be tells People, who was first to report the 19 Kids and Counting couple's baby news.
"The due date is November first, our wedding anniversary," adds Ben, 19, "We are looking forward to being parents."
Unlike Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, (who announced their pregnancy in its first trimester), Jessa and Ben waited until the beginning of their second trimester to share their happy news.
But much like baby Israel's mom and dad, finding out they were going to be parents came as quite a surprise! "We couldn't believe it," Jessa tells People, who says she took a pregnancy test on a Sunday morning before church, saw it was positive and went in to show the results to her hubby.
"I said, 'Hey Ben, guess what? Yeah, you're a dad,'" she recalls. "We are so excited. We have started talking baby names. It is one of those things that is so special, picking a name for a baby."
Fortunately, Jessa says she's "feeling pretty good," despite some early queasiness. "The morning sickness was different every day. It's getting better, but I'm still hanging on to the heartburn. And I don't have any super serious food cravings."
Jessa and Ben are still hoping to adopt a child as well. As the mom-to-be tells People, "Our hearts haven't changed on adoption...We're still making plans."
For now, though, they're just "trying to take it one day at a time," says Ben. "We pray every night that God helps us be good parents. We are getting advice from other parents."
