The O.C. Musical Is Happening And We Feel Very Strongly About It

The musical of our dreams is coming to Los Angeles!

"Californiaaaaaaaa, here we cooooooooome."

Those had better be some of the lyrics to one of the songs performed in the musical version of The O.C. that is definitely, for real, being developed.

We're not even joking about that. The Cohens are back on August 30 when The O.C. Musical hits Los Angeles.

Produced by the same geniuses, Jordan Ross and Lindsey Rosin, that brought us the Cruel Intentions musical (attended by stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair), the O.C. musical will feature characters from the show performing songs from the early 2000's.

Despite the fact that the musical is only a couple of months away, only the roles of Kirsten Cohen, Luke Ward, and show creator Josh Schwartz have been cast (because what is The O.C. without Josh Schwartz?).

The musical will only run for one night, August 30, at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood, but it will run forever in our hearts, just like the show continues to do.

The original series starred Adam Brody, Ben McKenzie, Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson and ran from 2003 to 2007 on Fox.

Sorry, got carried away there. Anyway, the original series starred Adam Brody, Ben McKenzie, Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson and ran from 2003 to 2007 on Fox. It is not, however, on Netflix or Hulu, which is a gosh darn shame

Guess we'll just have to settle with what is sure to be a fantastic musical, in which someone will hopefully utter this magical line:

Fox
