It sounds like the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel has a director.
A source tells me James Foley will likely direct Fifty Shades Darker. Another source says he is the frontrunner, but no deal has been signed yet.
Deadline was the first to report that Foley would likely be getting the coveted gig.
Foley most recently directed 12 episodes of House of Cards.
His film credits include At Close Range, Glengarry Glenn Ross, Who's That Girl and Perfect Stranger, among others.
He directed several music videos for Madonna, who starred in Who's That Girl.
Fifty Shades Darker is E.L. James' 2012 follow-up to Fifty Shades of Grey. 50 Shades hit the big screen in February and stars Jamie Dornan as the uptight billionaire Christian Grey who seduces a college student (Dakota Johnson) with kinky S&M sex.
Fifty Shades Darker is set to hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.
Universal Pictures and E! Online are both part of the NBCUniversal family.
