Creed frontman Scott Stapp reviews the new movie Creed. Spoiler alert: It wasn't what he expected.

Well Creed singer Scott Stapp just heard the news about that new Creed movie and recently offered his personal take on it.

In a satirical video review posted on Funny or Die, the 42-year-old rocker critiques the film, the seventh in the Rocky franchise, as if it were—what else?—a documentary about his '90s band. Creed was released on Wednesday.

"So this week, I checked out a new film called Creed. I said to myself, 'Finally! The epic tale of my band Creed is coming to the big screen!'" he says. "As Creed the movie unfolded, there wasn't much that resembled what happened in Creed the band."

Stapp makes some astute observations.

"The main character is played by Michael B. Jordan. You know, interesting choice—we don't look much alike, and the character's name is Creed, not Scott Stapp," he says.

"Sometimes when I walk down the street, people shout, 'What's up, Creed?' So I guess I get it," he adds.

But Creed the film does bear some resemblance to Stapp's real life, apparently.

"This movie has a lot of boxing," he says. "One time, I punched a guy from 311 but I never actually boxed."

"Anyway, I thought the performances were good," he says. "Jordan, [Sylvester] Stallone, they're great. I give this movie four Arms Wide Open."
