Holiday travel is upon us—are you ready?

Unfortunately, such annoyances like bumper-to-bumper traffic and long airport security lines are out of our control—but prepping a suitcase filled with all the essentials you need to tackle the holiday weekend in style? We got you. With the help of celeb stylist Daniel Musto, watch the video above to see how stars go from the tarmac to Thanksgiving dinner to brunch and beyond—all with the contents of a standard-size carry-on.

"You might be a mile high but you don't have to sacrifice comfort for style," said the pro. "Choose street silhouettes that flatter your figure but are constructed of comfortable fabrics."

Another trick to packing like a Hollywood jetsetter includes styling a few key pieces different ways. For instance, a printed, oversize coat is going to keep you just as warm on an American Airlines Dreamliner as it will in the wee hours of Black Friday morning. Plus, it's one less thing you have to cram in your luggage. Space-saver! Just don't forget to style the jacket with dramatically different basics (dress vs. shirt and jeans, for example)—because outfit repeat offender, you are not.

Now, how do you go from Thanksgiving dinner to brunch with pals the next day? Believe in the versatile powers of the maxi-dress.

"Holiday layers don't always mean throwing something over your look," Daniel reminded us. "Take the opportunity to class up a Thanksgiving look by slipping a crisp, white button-down underneath the maxi-dress. Then swap out the button-down for a cropped moto jacket, and your look will graduate from grandma appropriate to boozy-brunch bound."

Hey, it's all about getting the most mileage out of your wares.
