Graduate days are here again.

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem plans to bestow an honorary PhD on Barbra Streisand while she's in Israel next month to sing at an event celebrating President Shimon Peres' 90th birthday and perform two public concerts.

But while those scheduled performances will be Streisand's first in Israel, this will be her second honorary doctorate, her first being a PhD in Arts and Humanities from Brandeis University in Massachusetts.

Per the university, whose Emanuel Streisand Building for Jewish Studies is named after the singer's father, the honor will be presented June 17 during the 76th Hebrew University International Board of Governors Meeting.

"Barbra Streisand's transcendent talent is matched by her passionate concern for equality and opportunity for people of every gender and background," said professor and university president Menahem Ben-Sasson.

"Equally important, her love of Israel and her Jewish heritage are reflected in so many aspects of her life and career. We are deeply proud to honor an individual who exemplifies these values which we at the Hebrew University share and uphold."
