Going to outer space may be a dream for some. But for Matthew McConaughey's Interstellar character, Cooper, it's one of the hardest decisions he will ever have to make.

The new trailer for the upcoming movie was released Wednesday, and it explores Cooper's excruciating choice to leave his family behind in hopes of saving the universe.

"I'm coming back," he tells his daughter, played by Twilight's Mackenzie Foy. "I love you forever."

"You have no idea when you're coming back," she replies with tears in her eyes.

Co-starring Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine and Casey Affleck, the movie brings a group of explorers together with a goal to save humanity from an ever-changing world.

"When you become a parent, one thing becomes really clear," McConaughey shares in the movie. "You want your children to feel safe."

But in order to accomplish his mission, the actor will leave a huge void in his kids' life.

"We'll find a way [home]," McConaughey says. "We've always have." Talk about suspense!

Interstellar hits theaters Nov. 7.
