She's an iconic fashion designer. She's a former princess. And now she's the star of House of DVF, a new series coming to E! that will center around a group of young women competing for a chance to become the worldwide brand ambassador for Diane von Furstenberg's company!

Diane's designs have made a statement in the fashion world ever since she debuted her first wrap dress back in 1974, and within two years she sold over a million dresses and earned herself a spot on the cover of Newsweek, which referred to her as the biggest name in fashion since Coco Chanel.

Recently, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) held an exhibit to showcase the journey of Diane's iconic wrap dress and how it has evolved and been reinvented over the past 40 years. The wrap dress has seen its fair share of different prints, cuts and styles, but at the end of the day it remains the one and only DVF wrap dress.

"The Journey of the Dress exhibition is all about celebrating the wrap dress," Diane said in an interview. "It's the 40th anniversary, so I really wanted to honor the dress that has had such an impact on my life and the lives of many women around the world. I wanted to evoke the spirit of the wrap dress and to show how it has taken on a life of its own through all of the women who have worn it."

From vivid prints in the '70s and bold colorblock patterns in the '80s to leopard-inspired designs in the '90s, Diane's designs throughout the years have had a deep impact on the fashion world and the woman of today.
