There's a big difference between looking good and trying to look good.

When you're the face of a worldwide fashion brand, naturally, all eyes will be on you. Diane von Furstenberg has mastered the art of looking good (forgive us, we mean amazing), and she does it in such a way that she appears naturally perfect every single time!

We're counting down the top moments when the House of DVF star looked effortlessly perfect. May we all aspire to follow in her footsteps...

Newsweek

10. Cover of Newsweek

In 1976, just two years after introducing her iconic wrap dress to the world, Diane was featured on the cover of Newsweek. It was a defining moment in her life, establishing DVF as the biggest name in fashion since Coco Chanel.

"I really just wanted to create a simple dress that I would wear, but it turned out to be exactly what women wanted at the time," Diane said in an interview. "When they put me on the cover of Newsweek, I knew it was a success. It allowed me to live the American dream."

8. Early DVF Promos

In the early days of her career as a designer, Diane was operating on a shoestring budget and modeled for her own brand. 7. Her Memoir Book Cover

In her upcoming memoir, The Woman I Wanted to Be, which is scheduled to be published on October 28, DVF shares her personal philosophy on aging, style, and inner confidence. The book cover features an intimate portrait of Diane, who appears elegant and effortless in her natural state. Excerpt below:

"In my older face, I see my life. Every wrinkle, every smile line, every age spot. There is a saying that with age, you look outside what you are inside. If you are someone who never smiles your face gets saggy. If you're a person who smiles a lot, you will have more smile lines. Your wrinkles reflect the roads you have taken; they form the map of your life. My face reflects the wind and sun and rain and dust from the trips I've taken. My face carries all my memories. Why should I erase them?" —DVF

6. February issue of Harper's Bazaar

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of her wrap dress, Diane teamed up with supermodel Bar Refaeli and rapper Wale to pose for a spread that was photographed by the legendary Terry Richardson.

Diane and Bar modeled two DVF maxi wrap dresses, while Diane also took several individual portraits (and even modeled Terry's signature glasses for a playful shot). And have you seen those legs?

2. Portraits by Andy Warhol

Legendary pop artist Andy Warhol was one of Diane's closest friends, and back in the 1970s he did several portrait sessions with Diane as his main subject.

"I liked them very much," Diane said in an interview about her sessions with Andy. "Usually you don't like your photographs until ten years later, but that one I liked immediately. Then in 1982, he was doing an exhibition called Beauties, and he asked a lot of people to pose for that. Because he asked me to do it, he gave me one. And he made five. But I didn't like it, so I didn't buy any. And then when he died, I bought everything."
