E! News has confirmed the actress gave birth to the couple's first child in Los Angeles. No other details are available at this time.
A source confirmed the surprising news of Mendes' pregnancy after it was first revealed in July through media reports which claimed she was seven months pregnant with the hunky Hollywood beau's child.
The super-private Place Beyond the Pines star was been able to keep her baby bump under wraps by not being photographed for more than three months at the time, and sticking to loose-fitting and patterned clothing.
The notoriously private couple had neither confirmed nor denied the news throughout the pregnancy.
Mendes, who has always showcased a slim figure in public, had also spurred baby rumors in early February when she refused to pass through a full-body scanner at LAX airport in Los Angeles. At the time, her rep denied the actress was expecting a baby.
She and Gosling began dating back in September 2011.
