Katie Holmes is coming home!

Get excited, people, as we've learned the beloved Dawson's Creek star is set to make her TV return when she takes on a major season-long role in Ray Donovan's upcoming third season.

And yes, this means that Joey and Pacey (a k a one of TV's best couples ever!) are back on the same network as Joshua Jackson stars on Showtime's Golden Globe-winning freshman drama The Affair. Excuse us while we plot an epic Ray Donovan-The Affair crossover. And plans to wallpaper our house with the inevitable Josh-Katie pics that are sure to follow from future Showtime events. We're 12.

So who is Holmes playing on the gritty drama?

The superstar is set to take on the role of the shrewd and chic businesswoman Paige, who has a major connection to season three's other huge guest star: Deadwood's Ian McShane! Paige is the daughter of Andrew Finney (McShane), a prominent movie producer who turns to Ray (Liev Schreiber) for help to get his family out of a sticky situation.

After leaving the Creek in 2003, Holmes made a major guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother as the infamous Slutty Pumpkin, and played Jaqueline Kennedy in The Kennedys, ReelzChannel's miniseries. Next up for Holmes is the film Woman in Gold, which also stars Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren.

So how is Dawson (James Van Der Beek) feeling about Joey and Pacey sort of reuniting on Showtime without him?
