Mark Bell, the electronic music pioneer who found fame with the group LFO, has died.

The band's label, Warp Records, confirmed Bell's passing via a statement on their website, writing, "It's with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Mark Bell of LFO who died last week from complications after an operation. Mark's family & friends request privacy at this difficult time."

In addition to being a member of LFO, Bell was also famous for his collaborations with a wide range of artists, including Björk and Depeche Mode, and produced a number of hit tunes for many of the Icelandic singer's albums. Since the news of Bell's passing, Björk has been tweeting YouTube videos of LFO's hit tunes

LFO was originally composed of Bell and British techno musician Gez Varley before Varley exited the group in 1996.

Between 1989 and 2003, the band created three albums: Frequencies, Advance and the most recently, Sheath, which was released in 2003.

LFO is most famous for their 1990 single of the same name, which became a top 20 hit on the U.K. music charts.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the British producer's loved ones during this difficult time.
