Brad Pitt and Maddox Jolie-Pitt came face-to-face Wednesday for the first time in over a month. E! News has learned the two met with a therapist present. There is still a lot of work to be done regarding the father and son's relationship, and the FBI's investigation is ongoing. Angelina Jolie, meanwhile, wants her family to function with both parents fully involved in the kids' lives.
The Allied actor, 52, and his eldest son, 15, reportedly got into a mid-air altercation on a private plane Sept. 14. The alleged incident led to an anonymous call being placed with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services over claims Brad had been physically and verbally abusive towards Maddox. At the time, a source close to the actor told E! News he "did not commit any abuse of his children" and was distraught over any allegations to the contrary.
As part of a temporary custody agreement the former couple reached in September, Angelina was given sole custody of their children, and Brad received visitation rights. (The exes also agreed to individual and joint counseling.) Brad has seen his kids twice since then, with the exception of Maddox. According to a source, the teen was "mad at his dad" before they finally came together. Previously, a source revealed the actor was eager "to see the kids and to work out an arrangement that is best for them; he wants to work things out privately and amicably."
Meanwhile, two FBI agents visited Angelina at her home in Malibu Tuesday. They went on a three-hour fact-finding mission to determine if there is any evidence to warrant a formal investigation. In a statement to E! News, a spokesperson for the FBI spokesperson confirmed the preliminary investigation is continuing. "In response to your inquiry regarding allegations within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States; specifically, an aircraft carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI is continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued." TMZ reported the children—including Pax Jolie-Pitt, 12, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 11, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 10, and twins Knox Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 8— were also interviewed. A rep for Angelina, 41, declined to comment.
The Maleficent actress filed for divorce on Sept. 19, four days after she separated from Brad. The actor, whom Angelina married in 2014, has yet to file a response to her divorce petition.
