In really cool news, Starbucks is opening up a store staffed with deaf baristas. The cafe is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and looks to be the first of its kind for the coffee chain. 10 deaf and three hearing employees will work together to make up the staff. Starbucks says employees will use sign language to communicate when your drink is ready, instead of calling out your order. Items ready for pick-up will all have an order number which will be displayed on a screen as well. Coffee seekers can write their food and drink requests on an order ticket and present it to the barista who will key it into the system.

One of the reasons for opening this cafe, which works side-by-side with The Society of Interpreters for the Deaf, is to offer more employment opportunities for those who may be hearing-impaired. In addition, the store will provide a welcoming environment for all customers, deaf or not. Heck yes for equality. Did we talk about their uniforms yet? 'Starbucks' is spelled out in sign language on their green aprons. Check it out in the picture!

If you had doubts as to whether or not good things were still happening in this crazy world, this is your proof. Can we get these cafes all over the world, please?
