Richard McLaren/BravoBrandi Glanville has said some pretty offensive things since she joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast in 2011, and her latest remarks are no exception. During a the Tuesday, Jan. 14, edition of her Podcast One show, Brandi Glanville Unfiltered, the former model made a flippant joke about child molestation during a discussion with her guests, comedians Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine.
"I was actually stalking you online, Jim, and we have something in common! I, too, wanted to be molested as a child and was passed up," Glanville, a 41-year-old mother of two, said. "My sister got felt up by a principal, and nothing for me. He didn't even look at me sideways."
Florentine played along and asked, "Did you feel hurt by that?"
"Yeah," the reality star and best-selling author replied. "Now looking back, I'm super-bummed. I was thinking, 'All this and nothing?' Super-hot and they passed me up!"
Glanville apologized for her insensitive jokes via Twitter on Thursday, Jan. 16. "I was interviewing stand up comedians for my podcast! Had to go through their stand up routines to know what 2 talk about!"
She continued, "I'm sorry if I offended anyone with @Mrjimflorentine @PodcastOne interview My show is a COMEDY based entertainment show for adults I'm sorry." Glanville told one Twitter user that she is "still learning how to interview & learning what I can & cant say."
One of Glanville's critics reminded the single star that "molestation and rape are not subjects to joke about. Sexual violence is not about attractiveness; it's about power." Glanville agreed and wrote, "I'm sorry. I'm still learning how to interview stand up comedians.I would kill anyone that touched my kids."
The Drinking & Tweeting author's latest comments come on the heels of the racist joke she made during the Dec. 9, 2013, episode of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. During a girls' weekend in Palm Springs, Glanville stripped down to a skimpy bikini and begged host Joyce Giraud to get in the pool. The beauty queen repeatedly refused and then said, "I can't swim."
"You're a black person," Glanville replied with a laugh, horrifying her costars in the process. "All my black friends can't swim. Is that bad?" She later explained that "it was a joke, and my black friends would have laughed crazy because they don't go in the pool because they will get their weave f--cked up."
Glanville called into the network's Watch What Happens Live to apologize for her comments. "I think it was definitely inappropriate. I'm the least racist person of all time. I think the more you defend it, the more you look guilty, so I don't have to say that much more. I'm very sorry with whomever I offended."
