Selena Gomez had a bit of a scare at her home on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department confirms to E! News that police arrested 20-year-old Che Cruz at the singer's home last night and charged him with burglary and trespassing.

According to authorities, Gomez had just arrived with a friend at her Calabasas, Calif., residence when they heard a noise and called security. While security was on its way, Cruz knocked on the door.

Gomez's friend answered the door, and Cruz asked for Gomez. When Cruz was told the 21-year-old wasn't there, he walked away. However, as deputies arrived, Cruz was found hiding in the back guest house.

According to the booking sheet obtained by E! News, Cruz was being held on $50,000 bail.

TMZ was the first to report the news.

The incident comes just days after Gomez was served with legal papers in connection with one of the lawsuits pending against Justin Bieber.

A source told E! News last Friday that, as had been speculated, Gomez had been subpoenaed to testify in a suit filed by Jose Duran, the paparazzo who is suing Bieber for allegedly attacking him in the parking lot of The Commons, a posh outdoor shopping mall in Calabasas, Calif., in front of Gomez in May 2012.

"Selena has been ordered to appear on April 23, 2014, to be deposed in Los Angeles," the source exclusively confirmed.

We're told that Gomez will be questioned about "anything she observed before, during and after the May 2012 incident with Duran and Bieber."

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department investigated the fight at the time, but opted not to file criminal charges against anyone involved. Duran filed a civil suit last June.
